Easy-to-Make Tandoori Chicken Recipe
What is Tandoori Chicken?
Tandoori Chicken is a popular Indian dish consisting of marinated chicken that is traditionally cooked in a tandoor, a cylindrical clay oven. The chicken is marinated in a mixture of yogurt and spices, including cumin, coriander, turmeric, cayenne pepper, ginger, and garlic, which infuses it with a rich and aromatic flavor.
After marinating, the chicken is typically skewered and cooked at high heat in the tandoor, resulting in a charred and slightly smoky exterior while remaining tender and juicy inside. Tandoori Chicken is often served with naan bread, rice, and a side of mint chutney or yogurt sauce. It is a beloved dish both in India and around the world, known for its vibrant color, bold spices, and irresistible taste.
